Solo Exhibition | Artudio, Nepal | 2026

This exhibition emerged from my residency at Artudio in Nepal, where I worked closely with the local community in Patan (Lalitpur).

I am deeply interested in working with communities—their stories, the ways local people connect to place, the relationship between community and art, and the potential of collaborative creation. The community in Patan became a profound source of inspiration through its ability to sustain ancient traditions within a rapidly changing reality. This shared process resulted in a solo exhibition of seven works, presented across two floors of the gallery that hosted my residency at Artudio.

At the heart of the exhibition is a centuries-old underground water system: a network of canals, wells, and hiti—ancient stone spouts that once sustained everyday life and served as focal points for cooperation and communal life. Today, new construction blocks parts of this system and causes it to dry up, creating a poetic tension between collective flow and individual development through the metaphor of water.

For several weeks, I joined each morning and evening the young boy who serves as the head monk of the local monastery, accompanied by members of the community who escort and protect him along his route. Through these repeated walks, layer after layer of this daily performative act of shared responsibility gradually unfolded—a ritual in which an entire community comes together to safeguard its children.

Into this space enters the Green Man, a figure that has accompanied my practice in previous works. In this project, the chroma key suit—designed to make its wearer disappear—paradoxically makes him strikingly present. He carries on his back the weight of the invisible mechanisms of bureaucracy and the control society, searching for a balance between tradition and progress, between control and liberation.

Above all, the exhibition is a love letter to the community I encountered and to what I learned from it: to look backward in order to imagine the future, and to remember that beneath the surface not only water flows, but also memory, responsibility, and hope—and that from the wells one can draw not only water, but inspiration.

תערוכת יחיד | Artudio, נפאל | 2026

התערוכה נולדה מתוך השהות שלי בתת בפאטאן (לליטפור)וכנית רזדנסי ב"ארטודיו" בנפאל עם הקהילה המקומי

העבודה עם קהילות מעניינת אותי, מעניין אותי הסיפורים, החיבורים של המקומיים למקום, החיבור של קהילה עם אומנות והיכולת ליצור בשיתוף פעולה. הקהילה בפאטאן הייתה השראה ענקית לקיום מסורות עתיקות במציאות משתנה. הפרויקט המשותף הוליד תערוכת יחיד של שבעה עבודות שנפרסה על שתי קומות בגלריה שאירחה אותי בארטודיו.

במרכזה עומדת מערכת מים תת־קרקעית בת מאות שנים, רשת של תעלות, בארות ו"היטי", ברזי אבן עתיקים שבעבר הזינו את חיי היומיום והפכו למוקד של שותפות וקהילתיות. כיום, בנייה חדשה חוסמת חלק מהמערכת ומייבשת אותה, יש סמליות פואטית במתח שבין זרימה קולקטיבית לפיתוח אינדיבידואלי בהקשר של מים.

במשך שבועות הצטרפתי מדי בוקר וערב לילד המשמש כנזיר הראשי של המנזר המקומי, כשהוא מלווה בידי אנשי הקהילה השומרים עליו בדרכו. דרך ההליכות החוזרות אט אט התקלפה שכבה ועוד שכבה של האקט הפרפורמטיבי היומיומי של אחריות משותפת, שבו קהילה שלמה מתכנסת להגן על הילדים שלה.

אל המרחב הזה נכנס גם האיש הירוק, דמות שמלווה אותי עוד מעבודות קודמות. בעבודה זו חליפת הכרומה-קי שנועדה להעלים את הלובש אותה, הופכת אותו לנוכח במיוחד. הוא נושא על גבו את משקלם של מנגנונים בלתי נראים של חברת הבקרה והבירוקרטיה ומחפש איזון בין מסורת לקדמה, בין שליטה לשחרור.

התערוכה היא בראש ובראשונה מכתב אהבה לקהילה שפגשתי ולמה שלמדתי ממנה: להסתכל אחורה כדי לדמיין עתיד, ולזכור שלא רק מים זורמים מתחת לפני השטח אלא גם זיכרון, אחריות ותקווה ומן הבארות אפשר לשאוב לא רק מים אלא גם השראה.
